Giphy, a search engine for GIFs, has raised $2.4 million in a Series A round of funding. Giphy doesn't say how much they raised in a blog post, but TechCrunch says it was $2.4 million.

The company says it now serves over 1 billion GIFs a month. You can search by keyword or use tabs for reactions, categories and artists on giphy.com. There is also a Hot 100 tab. Giphy says it will be releasing more features in the near future. These include: "a suite of GIF creation tools, a new home page of all the best GIFs on the internet in real time, a new mobile optimized site, mp4 embeds of all our GIFs, and a ton of other GIFness."
