Monsterskate.com is a new skateboarding resource. Monsterskate promises to deliver everything a skateboarder could want in one place. The site includes an online magazine, live chat, online forums, skating tips and tricks and online shopping for skateboarding products.

Well and Healthy Woman

Well and Healthy Woman is a new online magazine and forum for women worried about the weight issues that can come with post-pregnancy and midlife. The magazine debuted in October and will publish 11 times during 2001. The magazine, which accepts no advertising and endorses no specific products, provides articles form psychologists, nutritionists, fitness experts and essayists. The new online publication also allows readers to listen in to other women's voices, particularly about weight struggles. Daily motivational quotes and a food-of-the-day feature, including recipes, are also part of the format.

The Lord of the Rings website

New Line has re-launched its The Lord of the Rings website. The re-launch of the site features a customized web browser, as well as screen savers and photos, information about the production, cast and filmmaker biographies, character synopsis, profiles of the production team, Real Audio interviews with the cast, filmmakers and production members, text interviews, maps of Middle-earth, and a news section featuring official information about the release of the film. Fans can post messages, trade images and have the opportunity to interact with their peers.

The new website named Plastic aims to be a live collaboration between editors and readers. Currently, Plastic's editors (as well as editors from other online publications) post short comments about current online articles and news stories. Plastic's readers can then engage in discussion about each article using interactive bulletin boards. Plastic has launched with several main subject areas including film, games, humor, media, music, politics, technology, sex, television and work. Editors from media sources, including Spin, Inside.com, Wired, Gamers.com, Movieline and Nerve.com, provide commentary and article links on Plastic.

The Fence is an Internet debate community, where issues and current events enthusiasts gather to debate everything from politics and public policy to sports and pop culture. The new website contains over 270 debate topics, ranging from current issues ("Should President Bush pardon President Clinton?'') to age old topics ("Should professional athletes be role models?'') to incendiary subjects ("Do some sick people have a duty to die?''). Each debate also includes a 400-500 word background article on the issue, and customized lists of books and documentary and boxed set videos.
