The interviews include music clips which can be heard over the Web and full-color photographs. Billboard Online http://www.billboard.com This website from the magazine which contains the popular Billboard charts contains daily music news, music polls and the popular charts from Billboard magazine. CDNow http://www.cdnow.com This online discount retailer features a wide selection of CDs, an easy-to-read look, online listening, custom CD creating, music reviews, gift certificates and other features. The site also includes MTV and VH1 lounges where music from the television network is featured, Billboard charts and the Album Advisor which helps you find new artists based on your current favorites. CMJ Online http://www.cmj.com/ This website for this popular industry magazine for DJ's and music fans contains online music news, a music website of the week, artist interviews, music reviews and music charts.Subscription details for the print magazines are also available. In addition to the print version CMJ offers e-CMJ, an all-electronic version of the CMJ New Music Report which is viewed with Adobe's Acrobat Reader. IUMA Online http://www.iuma.com/ IUMA, the Internet Underground Music Archive, is a resource for finding and hearing the music of independent musicians. The site currently contains information and recordings of over 2000 artists and bands. You can search for band by artist name or type of music. You can even select to hear a random band. Visitors can search for the artist or album title and listen to selected tracks over the Web before purchasing. An appealing look and cutting-edge graphics make this virtual CD-store a must-visit. Music Search http://www.musicsearch.com/ Music Search is a great place to begin an online music search. The search engine contains links to thousands of music sites as well as directories of artists, bands, labels, instruments, events and music reviews. An excellent, easy-to-use online music guide. Rolling Stone Network http://www.rollingstone.com/ Much more than just an online advertisement for the popular magazine, the Rolling Stone Network features interviews with artists and bands, music news, concert reviews, online chat and its most popular feature -- artists A-to-Z. A content-heavy website with lots of valuable information for music lovers. SonicNet http://www.sonicnet.com/ SonicNet is a complete music resource with live music over the Web, online radio stations, well-presented live events, music reviews, articles, interviews and an online guide to thousands of music websites. A thorough resource and an excellent Internet starting point for music fans. Spinner.com http://www.spinner.com/ Spinner.com is an excellent online music service with over 100 channels containing a variety of formats including Top 40, 80' music, Blues, Classicial, Latin music and many other styles. To hear live music from Spinner.com visitors must download the application, which is available for Windows 95 & 98 and Macintosh. Ultimate Band List http://www.ubl.com/ UBL, the Ultimate Band List, is a music store and online music reference. In addition to selling CDs and music merchandise (T-shirts, mugs, etc.), the website provides music reviews, music news, concert information and a comprehensive section of links to online resources. Wall of Sound http://wallofsound.go.com/ Wall of Sound is a spiffy-looking music site with CD reviews, daily news, music charts, upcoming music releases, feature interviews and more. Wall of Sound recently became part of Infoseek's Go Network. A worthwhile stop for music fans. WILMA http://www.wilma.com WILMA is an online guide to live music events. You can search for listings by artist, city and venue. The enormous database contains listings for over 18,000 touring artists. The venue listings contain address, phone, fax and capacity information. WILMA also allows for active discussions about each artist so visitors can share their thoughts and experiences. |
