The site will initially cover destinations in the United States, Bermuda and the Caribbean, with international expansion planned. BeachFreak contains information on different beach destinations, events, guide books, summer reading and beach cams. AccessScience http://www.accessscience.com McGraw-Hill Education has launched AccessScience, a subscription-based online research tool that is built around the McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science & Technology. AccessScience combines McGraw-Hill's reference capabilities with new online services. Unlike the print version, which is published every five years, the electronic encyclopedia is continuously updated. Other services, such as news and more than 60,000 links are also provided with the online service. SBTV.com http://www.sbtv.com SBTV.com is a new global online network exclusively providing small business news, views, features, interviews and services. The network launches with channels providing expert advice, interviews with leading business authors, sponsored by Planned Television Arts, "Real Business'' stories and profiles of successful entrepreneurs, practical legal tips and a "Dot Commerce'' channel featuring exclusive interviews with company executives. New channels scheduled to be added in the fall will feature financial advice for women, reports about teen entrepreneurs, a channel for SOHO (small office, home office workers) and a "rest & recreation'' channel. Salon.com Business http://www.salon.com Salon.com, which began as an online magazine, has redesigned the website to include Salon Business, a site reporting on business and finance, and Salon Shop, a shopping and ecommerce gateway. Salon Business features daily commentary and reporting on business and personal finance with an emphasis on the information industries -- entertainment, media, broadcasting, technology, publishing, fashion and advertising. Writ http://writ.findlaw.com FindLaw, an online legal resource, has launched Writ, an online magazine for the legal community and people interested in law and its impact on our culture. Writ offers readers legal commentary from leading lawyers, scholars and writers, along with a look at law and the legal world. Writ also provides information about the Supreme Court, criminal trials, key court battles across the country, the state of the legal profession, and the portrayal of law and lawyers in modern culture, including movies, books and television shows. Food.com http://www.food.com Food.com, an online food and dining destination, has launched a new version of its website. New additions to Food.com include daily publishing of national and local food-related articles and a searchable national Food.com Dining Guide with over 400,000 restaurant listings. The company also announced that the site would be divided into four distinct categories including online restaurant meal takeout and delivery, food-related editorial, a dining guide and shopping. |
